Sleeping up to six guests, Willow Barn is designed for time spent together – with the flexibility to retreat, recharge, and return to the rhythm of the estate.

Arranged over three floors, the barn offers a natural sense of balance between shared living and private retreat. At the top, the master bedroom sits beneath the roofline, with an en-suite and freestanding bath positioned to make the most of the light and views – a quiet space to begin and end the day.

The middle floor forms the centre of the house, where an open-plan kitchen, dining and living area brings everyone together. It’s an easy, sociable space – equally suited to long breakfasts, relaxed afternoons, or evenings that carry on without structure.

On the ground floor, two further bedrooms and a shared shower room provide a comfortable, practical layout for families or small groups.

Throughout, the interiors reflect a Lakeland-Scandi approach – pared-back, warm, and grounded in natural materials. The result is a space that feels calm and intuitive, where everything has its place without feeling over-designed.

Outside, a private terrace extends the living space into the landscape, offering a place to sit, slow down, and take in the surrounding countryside.

We stayed in the Corner Cottage, which was spotlessly clean, cosy, and well equipped with great facilities – everything we needed for a relaxing break!! 🤩

The location of the estate is excellent! Peaceful, yet perfectly placed for exploring the Lake District.
A walk into Windermere is around 20-25 minutes, and a walk into Bowness is around 40, but there are plenty of Ubers available too.

Overall, a fantastic place to stay – we would happily return, and recommend the Heaning Estate to anyone looking for a high-quality, tranquil Lake District getaway.

The properties are beautiful, with their careful and immaculate renovation and stunning fittings throughout. The grounds, fitted with festive and classic lighting gave a special feeling for the children and open up to amazing views of the mountains on your doorstep.

Perfect for families, couples or groups of friends to enjoy the perfect stay in a central location in the Lake District.

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Just divine, spent four nights here in August 2025. The townhouse was furnished to the highest standard. Three bedrooms with one very large and impressive bedroom on the top floor with a large bathroom attached. There are two smaller but  comfortable rooms on the lower floor but not the same standard as the master bedroom.
The estate is beautiful and very handy for exploring the National Park.
I would recommend using local taxi service for lifts into Windermere as parking is scarce and expensive.

Was greeted by a pumpkin and a bottle of Prosecco, both went down a treat. Would highly recommend, perfect spot to stay and go out and explore the area, can’t wait to visit again!
