Set across generous open-plan spaces, the house is designed to bring people together without ever feeling crowded.

At its centre, a large kitchen and dining area forms the social heart of the home, complete with a range cooker, Quooker tap, double dishwashers and coffee machine — a space made for long breakfasts, shared cooking and evenings around the table. A snug with a log burner sits alongside, offering a quieter corner to retreat to.

Beyond, a separate living room provides space to settle in properly, with a second log burner adding warmth and atmosphere throughout the seasons. A library and dedicated cinema room create additional places to slow down, whether that means an afternoon reading quietly or evenings spent together indoors.

The five en-suite bedrooms are designed with the same calm, considered approach found throughout the house. Two mezzanine bedrooms introduce openness and character, while the master suite opens onto a private balcony with views across the surrounding landscape.

Practical details are thoughtfully integrated throughout, including a boot room with Belfast sink, utility room, washing machine and dryer – everything needed for longer stays or larger groups.

The interiors follow a distinctly Scandinavian influence, combining natural textures, soft tones and uncluttered design to create a space that feels both elevated and deeply comfortable.

Meadow Brow is made for shared stays – a place to gather, celebrate and settle into the rhythm of the countryside at your own pace.

Really enjoyed my stay at the Heanings. The Stable cottage was incredibly cosy and well-equipped and the grounds were absolutely stunning. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful stay at the Heaning Estate, in the Lake District, and couldn’t recommend it more!! We stayed in the Corner Cottage, which was spotlessly clean, cosy, and well equipped with great facilities – everything we needed for a relaxing break!! 🤩 The location of the estate is excellent! Peaceful, yet perfectly placed for exploring the Lake District. A walk into Windermere is around 20-25 minutes, and a walk into Bowness is around 40, but there are plenty of Ubers available too. Overall, a fantastic place to stay – we would happily return, and recommend the Heaning Estate to anyone looking for a high-quality, tranquil Lake District getaway.

Had an incredible visit to the Heaning a few days before Christmas. The properties are beautiful, with their careful and immaculate renovation and stunning fittings throughout. The grounds, fitted with festive and classic lighting gave a special feeling for the children and open up to amazing views of the mountains on your doorstep. Perfect for families, couples or groups of friends to enjoy the perfect stay in a central location in the Lake District.

Just divine, spent four nights here in August 2025. The townhouse was furnished to the highest standard. Three bedrooms with one very large and impressive bedroom on the top floor with a large bathroom attached. There are two smaller but comfortable rooms on the lower floor but not the same standard as the master bedroom. The estate is beautiful and very handy for exploring the National Park. I would recommend using local taxi service for lifts into Windermere as parking is scarce and expensive.

Lovely Staycation location! The cottage had games, books and the whole place was lovely. Also in a great location just outside of Windermere town.

Had an amazing time here for Halloween weekend. The cottage was absolutely amazing/beautiful. Was greeted by a pumpkin and a bottle of Prosecco, both went down a treat. Would highly recommend, perfect spot to stay and go out and explore the area, can’t wait to visit again!
